KRA Anniversary IV

Faithful to tradition, we are now celebrating our fourth anniversary!

This is the day to see what's going on in the house, who we are, and what we are up to. There will be a performance starting on the outside of KRA (managed by Kunstgrillen), an opening of the indoor art exhibition (managed by Leo Ribeiro), and a dance party throughout the evening with DJ Alamandala. 

PS: Leading up to the event, we are hosting a series of workshops by members of KRA in the weekends leading up to the Anniversary event: 

5th of May, 13:00 - 17:00 :: Contact Improvisation Workshop by Šárka Benedová.

KRA is an open workspace and art collective, regularly used by around 25-30 artists from different disciplines. We are mainly a place for daily work and practices, but sometimes do events benefiting (or initiated by) the artists on the house, such as the bi-monthly Open Stage. The Anniversary event is the biggest event of the year, and a time for new people to visit the house and see what's going on. It is also a shared celebration of another year surviving as a somewhat idealistic dream in Stavanger!

KRA is a place for on-going processes, and most of the things you see here will be ongoing and unfinished.  

This years' performance will be shaped as a site-responsive tour, guided and seamed together by the performance collective Kunstgrillen. Kunstgrillen has been closely connected to KRA ever since establishing around the same time (with some of the same people) in 2020. Currently Kunstgrillen is working on the project "The sun has stopped falling in", and this will be the first work sharing from that process, presented together with guest performers from KRA.

At 19:00 we are doing a pre-opening and sneak peek of this year's art exhibition: KRA TOONS. Long-time member Leo Ribeiro is curating and managing the exhibition, showcasing a series of local cartoon artists. Leo Ribeiro is an illustrator and animator from Brazil, living in Stavanger since 2018, producing art prints, cartoons and short animation films. 

Artists: Rasmus Husebø, Maya Øvrebø, Stuart Mcgarey, Dusan Cvetkovic, Espen Birkedal and Leo Ribeiro. 

From 22:00 we are firing up the dance floor with DJ Alamandala! 

Alamandala, aka Alicja Pierzyna, has been an electronic music enthusiast since 2015, and recently started her DJ'ing career. Her track selection ranges from organic, afro and melodic house, which will cure your soul and make you dance at the same time! Alicja is also a local handcraft artist, working with macramé, decorations and dot work painting. Check out her music on this link: https://on.soundcloud.com/1mFWb
