ABOUT US
KRA is a coworking space and open community for artists in Stavanger, aiming to ensure that artists from different fields have access to a shared workspace, professional community and opportunities for further developing their careers and artistry in Stavanger.
KRA was established in 2020 to address a shared need among artists for a workspace and collegium on a day-to-day basis, especially in between projects, as well as a place to share their works in early stages of the process. We are primarily a space for artists in the establishing phase, focusing on artists that have recently graduated or moved to Stavanger, and international artists.
KRA functions as a daily workspace with common areas, rooms that can be booked for short
sessions (dance studio, music room, meeting room) and a few permanent workstations. The
workspace is meant to support daily practices and artistic meeting points, and functions as an incubator for new projects in between bigger productions and residencies. We promote and encourage co-creation, interdisciplinary meeting points and open processes, regularly open to the public. We facilitate different ways to share and exchange methods, knowledge, practices, works in progress and ideas in safe and supportive environments through regular events such as open stage, morning practice and common office hours. We're also hosting residencies for local and visiting artists, intermingling with the rest of the house.
KRA is run by Eduardo Scaramuzza, Ingvild Maria Thingnes and Anna Elise Sørdal Klungre.
KRA is financially supported by Stavanger Kommune, Rogaland Fylkeskommune, Norsk Kulturfond, members, contributors and volunteer efforts.
