KRA's residency program hosted Koiro Duo for a two-week residency developed in collaboration with Kløvtun in Suldal. Working between KRA in Stavanger and Kløvtun in Suldal, the duo focused on developing and recording material for their debut EP, alongside rehearsals, video recordings and collaboration with the artist Eduardo Scaramuzza.
Koiro Duo comprises Brazilian-German clarinettist and vocalist Stephanie Kobori and Argentinian guitarist, vocalist, and composer Manu Rosales. Their music brings together South American traditional and contemporary popular music, with particular roots in Brazilian and Argentinian musical traditions.
The residency also created opportunities to share the work with local audiences in both locations. Koiro Duo presented a lunchtime concert at Suldal Kulturhus on 6 March, followed by a work-in-progress showing at KRA on 7 March, offering audiences a glimpse into the music and process developed during the residency.
Koiro Duo's residency and project were supported by Culture Moves Europe, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.
